Australian shoppers now have the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of seamlessly linking their payment card and loyalty program. This integration ensures that customers receive loyalty rewards directly at the point of sale, eliminating the need for a physical loyalty card during transactions.

The introduction of OneTap Loyalty technology allows customers to activate their loyalty program to recognize their payment card, providing a convenient solution for loyalty benefits regardless of the shopping location or time. Developed and implemented by Elevate Loyalty, as stated by Carly Neubauer, co-founder and director of the company, the innovative platform is poised to transform the landscape of loyalty programs.

“OneTap Loyalty registers a payment card with the loyalty program, allowing customers to effortlessly tap and pay whether shopping in-store or online. The payment card seamlessly identifies the shopper’s participation in the store’s loyalty program, automatically granting the associated points,” Neubauer explained.

The shopper instantly receives a “surprise and delight” notification on their phone, confirming the addition of rewards points to their account. This service is offered at no cost to shoppers and seamlessly integrates with existing loyalty programs.

Neubauer highlights that less than half of retail transactions are linked to customers’ loyalty accounts due to factors like not having the loyalty card on hand or being in a rush at the checkout. This percentage drops significantly during peak periods like Black Friday and Cyber Monday, reaching as low as 20%.

“OneTap Loyalty addresses the challenges faced by shoppers in utilizing loyalty programs and revolutionizes customer engagement. The technology is compatible with both new and existing member or loyalty programs, accommodating various program structures such as points, benefits, rewards, or subscriptions.

“For retailers, the implementation of OneTap Loyalty results in reduced checkout times by eliminating the need for sales assistants to inquire about rewards cards. Importantly, the technology prioritizes consumer data security by not storing any information, including payment cards. All data is retained within the loyalty program, and the identification of the payment card at checkout is established through a permission-based action approved by the member. OneTap Loyalty provides the necessary technical capability for enabling this process.”
