Avianca announced that starting February 1, 2024, it will renew its fare structure, offering four fare options for both American and European flights to provide customers with a simpler, more flexible, and easier-to-purchase product. There will be three options in economy class and one in business class.
“This new offer is based on simplicity and flexibility, which undoubtedly represents better prices for customers. These four fares, in addition to making the purchasing process easier, are designed to meet the needs of all types of travelers. At Avianca, the sky belongs to everyone, and customers choose how they prefer to fly,” said Manuel Ambriz, Chief Commercial Officer of Avianca.
What does each fare include?
For flights within the Americas, except for Brazil, Europe and some specific routes in America, the airline will offer three economy class fares: basic, classic, and flex; and one business class fare: business, which will be available on routes within the Americas operated by wide-body aircraft.
- basic: For those who prefer to travel light. It includes a personal item and check-in via the web or app.
- classic: For those who want more benefits. It includes a personal item, one 10kg carry-on, one 23kg checked bag, check-in at the counter, web, or app, economy seat selection, and LifeMiles accrual.
- flex: Offers more possibilities. Includes a personal item, one 10kg carry-on, one 23kg checked bag, check-in at the counter, web, or app, plus, emergency exit or economy seat selection, pre-flight changes and refunds, and LifeMiles accrual.
- business: The all-inclusive option. It includes a personal item, one 10kg carry-on, two 32kg checked bags, pre-flight changes and refunds, check-in at the counter, web, or app, priority counter service and baggage delivery, business class seating, access to Avianca lounges, priority boarding, and LifeMiles accrual. Available on wide-body aircraft routes and some long-haul routes operated by narrow-body aircraft.

In addition to the offer enhancements on flights to Europe, the airline launched in December the new business class experience, introducing a menu created by the owner of El Chato restaurant in Bogotá, ranked among The World’s 50 Best Restaurants in 2023. Additionally, a new amenity kit featuring Loto del Sur products and collectible Mola Sasa cases, designed in collaboration with women from the indigenous Gunadule community, has been introduced.
The company indicated it will continue to focus on personalization, offering more than 16 complementary products for each fare to its clients, among which stand out access to Avianca lounges, upgrades to business class, priority boarding, in addition to other travel assistance services.
