Anthony Ben Sadoun has joined ASOS as the digital product executive, emphasizing the crucial importance of digital product and user experience for online retailers. His appointment as the new executive vice-president of digital product underscores the significance ASOS places on enhancing its digital offerings. Sadoun will become a member of the key management committee, commencing next week.

His role carries significant weight, particularly given the challenges ASOS has encountered amid the reversal of the pandemic-induced online shopping surge for fashion e-tailers. Despite not having prior experience in the UK and European markets, Sadoun brings relevant expertise, having served as the chief product officer at Kavak, a Latin American e-marketplace, until 2023, and holding a similar position at Linio, another online marketplace in the region, from 2014 to 2019.

Based in London, Sadoun’s primary objective at ASOS is to integrate cutting-edge technology with the company’s fashion creativity to enhance the customer experience on the site. His direct reporting line to ASOS CEO José Antonio Ramos Calamonte underscores the significance of his role.

While ASOS has highlighted progress in its turnaround efforts, as evidenced by improved margins and reduced adjusted EBITDA losses in its recent financial results announcement in November, sales have continued to decline. Despite the positive indicators, the company anticipates a contraction in sales for the fiscal year 2024.
