GLOCarrefour has collaborated with Netflix to introduce a new subscription program called Carrefour Plus for customers residing in the Rouen and Bordeaux regions of France.
In this trial initiative, the French retailer will provide a 10% discount on all own-brand products, along with a Netflix Standard subscription featuring ads, priced at €5.99 per month without any long-term commitment. This marks the first instance of Netflix partnering with a major retailer to offer a subscription, as noted by the streaming service.
Residents of the Rouen and Bordeaux urban areas can enroll in the Carrefour Plus program either through the Carrefour.fr website or at one of the 108 participating stores.
Caroline Dassié, executive director of global marketing, customers, brands, and own brands at Carrefour Group, emphasized the company’s commitment to innovation by introducing new services and promotions aimed at enhancing the customer experience and safeguarding their purchasing power. With the Carrefour Plus program in collaboration with Netflix, Carrefour aims to enable customers to enjoy both entertainment and food without compromise, reflecting their dedication to building customer preference for Carrefour.
According to Laurent Uguen, sales director at Netflix, this partnership will expand access to Netflix content for new audiences.
The Carrefour Plus program also offers additional benefits such as free home deliveries for orders totaling €60 or more. Furthermore, approximately 10 participating stores will offer Netflix merchandise including figurines, t-shirts, mugs, bags, and posters featuring popular Netflix titles such as Stranger Things, The Chronicle of Bridgerton, One Piece, and Rebel Moon.
The success of the Carrefour Plus program in the pilot cities of Rouen and Bordeaux will determine its potential expansion throughout France.
