Morocco’s national carrier, Royal Air Maroc, and global digital payments leader, Visa, have teamed up to introduce the first co-branded bank cards in the country. This collaboration aims to provide customers with a distinctive loyalty program and an enriched travel journey.

This groundbreaking partnership, announced on Wednesday, signifies a noteworthy advancement in both the banking and aviation sectors in Morocco. By involving prominent banks like Attijariwafa Bank and Bank of Africa, the initiative seeks to revolutionize the travel experience for Moroccans through convenient digital payment solutions and exclusive perks.

Cardholders, along with members of Royal Air Maroc’s Safar Flyer loyalty program, will benefit from a variety of advantages, including tailored offers on domestic and international transactions.

Hamid Addou, CEO of Royal Air Maroc, emphasized the strategic importance of the partnership, stating, “This initiative is in line with our commitment to continuous innovation and enhancement. We are delighted to introduce a new and advantageous loyalty program to our customers, further enriching their travel experience.”

Leila Serhan, Visa’s Group Country Manager for North Africa, the Levant, and Pakistan, highlighted the partnership’s dedication to providing convenient and beneficial digital payment solutions, particularly for travelers in Morocco and Africa. “This program leverages Visa’s global network, Royal Air Maroc’s market presence, and the expertise of our partner banks,” she stated.

Customers can obtain the co-branded Royal Air Maroc bank card at Attijariwafa Bank and Bank of Africa branches, with each offering personalized cards and benefits. Enrollment in Royal Air Maroc’s Safar Flyer program is a prerequisite for participation.

This pioneering initiative sets the stage for future collaboration, with both Royal Air Maroc and Visa hinting at the development of additional solutions under this strategic partnership. With a focus on innovation and customer satisfaction, this collaboration aims to reshape the Moroccan travel landscape and deliver a seamless and rewarding experience for air travelers.
