In May, TudoAzul, Azul’s loyalty program, reintroduced the “Frozen Rate,” a feature that simplifies airline ticket reservations by allowing customers to book tickets even if they don’t have enough points in their account at the time of booking. This feature guarantees the selected fare for a certain period.

The “Frozen Rate” has been recognized by the International Loyalty Awards, which honor excellence, innovation, and best practices in the loyalty industry worldwide. Judged by over 25 experts across various markets and industries, the awards celebrate outstanding contributions in loyalty programs.

The eleventh edition of the awards took place in London on the 13th, where the “Frozen Rate” was a finalist in three categories: Best Industry Innovation, Best Travel Loyalty Initiative, and Best Short-Term Loyalty Initiative.

“We are greatly honored to have one of our products recognized internationally, especially as a finalist in three different categories. This achievement is significant for our loyalty program, which continually develops products and services that offer real benefits to our customers, setting us apart from other programs in the country. Congratulations to all the crew members involved in the success of the program,” said Cristina Yoshida, director of TudoAzul and Ancillary Revenue.

What is the Frozen Rate?

The Frozen Rate allows customers to book tickets even without the full balance of points in their account, locking in the fare for a period ranging from 48 hours to 11 months. Customers can secure their reservation for up to two days with the 48-hour rate freeze, but must pay within 7 days for domestic flights or 14 days for international trips. For the 11-month freeze, customers have more time to accumulate the necessary points, with the balance needing to be settled by the date specified at the time of purchase.

This service is available only on flights sold and operated by Azul Linhas Aéreas and is subject to fare and seat availability. Full details are available on the TudoAzul website.
