Visa and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) announced the launch of the Visa Thailand Grand Sale 2024 on Monday. This campaign aims to boost international tourism to Thailand and enhance tourist spending at major shopping centers such as King Power Duty-Free, Siam Paragon, Emporium, EmQuartier, Emsphere, Icon Siam, and Gaysorn.
According to the Ministry of Tourism & Sports, the top five countries by inbound travelers are Mainland China, Malaysia, Russia, India, and South Korea. In the first five months of 2024, Thailand welcomed over 14 million tourists, a 37.64% increase from the same period last year.
Punnamas Vichitkulwongsa, Visa Thailand Country Manager, said, “With over two decades of collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and partnerships with leading shopping institutions in Thailand, we are excited to offer unprecedented deals and discounts for international cardholders using their Visa card. Tourism Authority of Thailand Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool added, “We are thrilled to launch the Visa Thailand Grand Sale 2024 with Visa. This initiative aligns with our goal to increase tourism revenue this year. We hope this collaboration will significantly boost international tourist numbers and enhance their spending experience in Thailand. This year has shown strong tourism growth, and with an ambitious target of adding THB 3.5 trillion in revenue, we believe this campaign will further solidify Thailand’s status as a premier shopping destination in Asia.”
The Visa Thailand Grand Sale 2024 offers international Visa cardholders various discount coupons and special deals at participating top department stores across Thailand, including King Power Duty-Free, Siam Paragon, Emporium, EmQuartier, Emsphere, Icon Siam, and Gaysorn. The campaign runs until August 31, 2024.
Exclusive offers for Visa cardholders include:
- THB 500 discount with a minimum spend of THB 7,000 at King Power.
- A THB 500 cash voucher with a minimum spend of THB 7,000 per sales slip or a THB 1,000 cash voucher with an accumulated spend of THB 25,000 at Siam Paragon, Emporium, EmQuartier, and Emsphere.
- A complimentary Visa tote bag with a minimum spend of THB 20,000 at Emporium, EmQuartier, and Emsphere.
- A THB 1,000 Siam gift card with a minimum spend of THB 100,000 at Siam Paragon, Icon Siam.
- A complimentary Visa tote bag and 500 THB dining voucher with a minimum spend of THB 15,000 at Gaysorn.
