SASStarting May 21, 2025, Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) will relaunch its direct flights between Copenhagen (CPH) and Seattle (SEA), a route it last operated in 2009.
This new service marks SAS’s third route to the western United States, joining its existing flights to San Francisco (SFO) and Los Angeles (LAX).
The announcement of the Copenhagen–Seattle route comes shortly after SAS officially joined the SkyTeam alliance, ending its 27-year affiliation with Star Alliance.

SAS will offer five round-trip flights per week between Copenhagen Airport and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. The schedule is as follows:
- Flight SK937: Departs Copenhagen at 1:05 PM, arrives in Seattle at 2:00 PM.
- Flight SK938: Departs Seattle at 4:20 PM, arrives in Copenhagen at 11:00 AM the next day.
Initially, the route will be operated by SAS’s Airbus A350-900, which will later switch to an A330-300 in June. The A350-900, known for its spacious and well-lit cabin, seats 300 passengers across three classes: 40 business class seats, 32 in SAS Plus (premium economy), and 228 in SAS GO (economy). Business class offers a 1-2-1 configuration with direct aisle access, while SAS Plus has a 2-4-2 layout for a more comfortable experience than economy.
The A330-300, set to operate the route from June 2025, also has three classes: 32 business class flatbed seats, 56 SAS Plus seats, and 174 economy seats.
SAS President and CEO Anko van der Werff expressed excitement about the airline’s growing North American network, stating that the new route will offer more travel options and strengthen ties between Scandinavia and the Pacific Northwest, a region with strong economic growth and deep Scandinavian roots.
With Seattle added to its roster, SAS will serve 11 non-stop destinations in North America, further enhancing Copenhagen Airport’s role as a major hub for Scandinavia and Northern Europe.
SAS has already begun opening reservations for the new service, and the airline’s partnership with Air France KLM Flying Blue now allows passengers to earn and redeem miles for SAS flights. While award seat availability is limited at the moment, travelers should keep an eye out for future opportunities.
In summary, SAS will resume flights between Copenhagen and Seattle after a 15-year hiatus, further expanding its reach in North America with the launch of this long-anticipated route.
