The 2024 South African Loyalty Awards, created to celebrate excellence and innovation in the loyalty sector, recently revealed the winning brands at the Truth International Leaders in Loyalty Summit held in Cape Town.

Now in its sixth year, the South African Loyalty Awards were launched by Truth, an international loyalty and CRM consultancy based in South Africa.

“The 2024 South African Loyalty Awards have once again demonstrated that the local loyalty industry is excelling in world-class innovation and performance, exceeding global standards! Each year, we see how leading loyalty brands are truly helping South Africans navigate difficult times and manage their daily financial struggles. These rewards are crucial in helping consumers meet their monthly expenses,” said Amanda Cromhout, chair of the judging panel and CEO/founder of Truth.

Cromhout, who also judges the Asia Pacific Loyalty Awards and The International Loyalty Awards, noted that South Africa produces some of the world’s most respected loyalty brands with top-tier results and customer experiences.

A total of 24 categories were judged through a rigorous process, led by a panel of 14 loyalty and CRM experts from South Africa and around the world.

The headline awards, “Best Programme of the Year,” were given to leaders across various sectors, including retail, financial services, restaurants, travel, fuel, telecoms, and entertainment. Additional awards recognized excellence in categories such as “Best Partnership Programme,” “Best Newcomer,” “Best Relaunched Programme,” and “Best Long-term Programme,” celebrating the top and most established loyalty initiatives in the country.

The winners of the “Best Programme of the Year” were:

  • Best Overall Long-term Loyalty Programme: FNB eBucks
  • Best Loyalty Programme – Retail: The Shoprite Group Xtra Savings
  • Best Loyalty Programme – Financial Services: FNB eBucks
