SASThe new route follows the opening of Nuuk’s international airport this year and marks SAS’s return to Greenland after almost two decades. The opening of the Arctic route strengthens the possibilities for travel to and from Greenland as well as several of SAS’ destinations around the world.

By virtue of the already existing commercial agreement with Air Greenland, Greenland’s access to SAS’s global network is improved. At the same time, it underlines SAS’s desire to strengthen travel options in the Arctic area.
“We are excited about improving the connection between Greenland, Scandinavia and destinations around the world through our collaboration with the SkyTeam alliance,” says Anko van der Werff, President and CEO of SAS. “The new route meets increasing demand for adventure-filled travel experiences, and at the same time strengthens Copenhagen’s position as a central hub for connections to Scandinavia worldwide”.

The new route, which operates during the summer season, will highlight Nuuk as one of the world’s most unspoiled and unique destinations. SAS is thus helping to position Greenland, which was recently named by National Geographic as one of the 25 best places to travel in 2025, as an exciting, global destination.
The new route is awaiting final approval by the government.
