Ziraat Bank, the Turkish bank with the most extensive service network, has partnered with Mastercard, a leading technology company in payment systems and include legendary football icon Lionel Messi in its campaign. Through this collaboration, Ziraat Bank aims to provide its customers with an innovative and exclusive experience, while leveraging Messi’s global image to expand the reach of Bankkart’s benefits to a broader audience.

Ziraat Bank’s solution offers users a combined credit and debit card experience through a single card, promising a seamless financial journey. With Mastercard’s payment infrastructure, Bankkart holders can enjoy faster and easier payments, both domestically and internationally, by using Bankkart’s contactless payment and mobile application features.

In Ziraat Bank’s statement: “As part of their global sponsorship agreement with Lionel Messi, Mastercard has generously offered the rights they hold for Messi to be used by Bankkart in Turkey at no cost. We believe that the Bankkart Lionel Messi campaign, made possible with the invaluable support of Mastercard, will greatly contribute to raising awareness of all the advantages our brand offers. We are excited about this collaboration, where Messi joins forces with the Bankkart brand of Ziraat Finance Group, Turkey’s largest financial brand.”

Avşar Gürdal, General Manager of Mastercard Turkey and Azerbaijan, stated: “We bring Mastercard’s global sponsorship assets to our clients within the framework of innovative marketing communication projects. For the Bankkart communication project, which we will carry out with Ziraat Bank between October and December 2024, we are positioning Lionel Messi as one of our global sponsorship assets. This collaboration not only strengthens our presence in the Turkish market but also stands as an important testament to our long-term partnership with Ziraat Bank.”

A New Experience in Card Usage

Ziraat Bank’s Bankkart combines the features of both credit and debit cards into a single card for its users. The credit card number is displayed on the front of the card, while the debit card number is on the back, offering users the option to choose which card to use when making transactions at POS terminals or ATMs. Bankkart aims to provide the opportunity for users to make installment payments, earn points, participate in campaigns, and benefit from attractive discounts at partnered merchants. With features like contactless payment and 3D Secure, Bankkart offers fast and secure transactions, providing modern solutions for its users’ financial needs in the digital world.
