Aer Lingus is getting the festive season off to a flying start as it invites customers to enjoy a delightful array of holiday-themed food and films onboard. Customers flying across the Atlantic with Aer Lingus will be able to enjoy a classic Christmas dinner as they fly on long-haul flights departing from Ireland and Manchester from December 8th. When it comes to onboard entertainment, the airline has over 50 festive favourites for customers to feast on.

Aer Lingus’ lounges at Dublin Airport, London Heathrow, and New York JFK will also be decked out to offer a winter wonderland welcome for customers. Eligible customers will enjoy Christmas-inspired food like mince pies and delectable savoury bites. In Dublin, there will also be seasonal hot chocolate from artisan Irish chocolatier, Grá Chocolates.

In the Business Class cabin, the airline has introduced a festive ‘Merry Berry’ edition of its Champagne Signature Cocktail as part of its welcome drink offering. The Business Class menu includes festive roast turkey with herb stuffing served alongside roast potato, honey roasted carrot and chunky parsnip, buttered brussels sprouts and cranberry-infused gravy. To finish, there’s a velvety Irish cream liqueur dessert with a shimmering mirror glaze and a festive chocolate disc. For those who prefer something savoury, the locally sourced cheese board with cranberry chutney and crackers is sure to be a favourite.

Customers flying in the airline’s economy cabin will have a choice of Christmas dinner with roast turkey, crispy potatoes, braised red cabbage and a delectable gravy. For afters, there’s a scrumptious orange chocolate mousse, while younger fliers will get to finish their meal with a special Santa-inspired chocolate treat.

Aer Lingus will fly up to one million people between North America and Europe over the festive period, many of whom are visiting loved ones in Ireland or overseas. As well as its Christmas food offering on long-haul services, customers on shorter journeys can also embrace a select offering of seasonal treats from the airline’s Bia range, including a festive turkey sandwich.

There’s also no shortage of Christmas-inspired entertainment onboard. There’s classic movies like Home Alone, Elf, The Polar Express, and Love Actually, as well as Christmas editions of top TV shows like Friends, Father Ted, The Big Bang Theory and The US Office. There’s also seasonal music, documentary and kids’ entertainment, as well as podcasts and games as usual.

Susanne Carberry, Aer Lingus Chief Customer Officer, said: “At Aer Lingus, we take great pride in the role we play in bringing family and friends together to celebrate the special moments, particularly at this time of year. With the holiday season getting underway, we’re doing all we can to ensure that we make every journey count for our customers.

“With festive food and feelgood films onboard, our transatlantic customers will enjoy all the comforts of home as they travel over the coming weeks.”

In 2025, Aer Lingus will fly to two new destinations – Indianapolis and Nashville – bringing the number of transatlantic routes operated by the airline from Dublin, Shannon and Manchester to 24. As always, customers flying to the United States can enjoy US preclearance in Dublin and Shannon airports.

Aer Lingus’ Christmas meals will be available onboard from December 8th – 24th. Grá Chocolates’ hot chocolate will also be available in the Dublin lounge from December 8th.
