Crowne Plaza Adelaide Mawson Lakes
Crowne Plaza Adelaide Mawson Lakes opened as the first and largest premium hotel in northern Adelaide, expanding the IHG portfolio to five hotels in the region. The 155-room hotel is part of a new-build seven-storey precinct in the heart of Mawson Lakes, offering guests the ideal blend of convenience and access in one of Adelaide’s most rapidly growing lifestyle areas, moments from the best events and attractions in the CBD, Barossa Valley and beyond.
Each guestroom is complete with feature elements and artworks inspired by the natural South Australian landscapes and have been purposefully designed to embrace the blended business and leisure lifestyles of today’s travellers. Offering a collection of king and twin share rooms, suites, adjoining rooms and kitchenettes, the rooms are complemented with premium high-tech touches and enjoy 24-hour in-room dining options.
The hotel’s Ember & Vine restaurant delivers the brand’s commitment to innovative dining with a philosophy that returns to the basics of stone cooking as well as savouring the natural elements of bold flavours and locally sourced ingredients. Aviator Bar offers sprawling floor-to-ceiling views of the Adelaide Hills and adjacent Parafield Airport, in a relaxed atmosphere for guests to enjoy barista coffee or journey through the award-winning wineries, breweries, and distilleries of South Australia and beyond.
Four purpose-built conference and event spaces feature natural light and state-of-the-art technology, offering more than 442 square metres for up to 250 guests to attend private functions and events.
Crowne Plaza Sydney Airport
Crowne Plaza Sydney Airport touched down in early December as the first Crowne Plaza branded hotel in an airport location in Australia, bringing an elevated approach to airport accommodation in Sydney. The evolution of the hotel to a Crowne Plaza delivers a modern, design-led experience for guests as domestic and international visitation continues to soar.
The first phase of the property’s transformation has been unveiled with a new ground floor reception and welcome area, offering a fresh take on the traditional hotel lobby format with open reception pods, a striking feature wall and large-scale pendant lighting. After a transformative AUD$15 million refurbishment in 2022, each of the 252 guestrooms have been designed to restore, inspire, and rejuvenate. The interiors feature earthy tones, bronze light fixtures, and leather headboards, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere.
On the culinary front, the hotel’s restaurants and bars are undergoing extensive reimagining to align with the latest dining trends and will relaunch in the coming months.
Guests will also have access to 24-hour room service, gym, sauna and six meetings and event spaces with floor-to-ceiling windows, high ceilings and private bar facilities.
Looking ahead to 2025, IHG Hotels & Resorts will continue to expand the brand into new and exciting destinations with another three Crowne Plaza branded hotels to open. Crowne Plaza Macquarie Park will rein in the new year, opening its doors to guests in early January, followed by Crowne Plaza Melbourne Carlton and Crowne Plaza Shell Cove Marina to open mid-2025. Crowne Plaza Geelong will open in 2026 as part of the Plenary Group’s Geelong Convention and Exhibition Centre precinct development project.
