Malaysia Airlines and Firefly have been recognised with distinguished accolades, reaffirming their commitment to enhancing customer experience and delivering service excellence in the aviation and travel industries.

At the 2024 Putra Brand Awards, Malaysia Airlines achieved the coveted Platinum Award in the Transportation, Travel & Tourism category, a significant leap from its Bronze win from the previous year. Meanwhile, Firefly secured the Bronze Award, underscoring the Group’s collective dedication to delivering superior service for its customers.

The Putra Awards, Malaysia’s premier brand recognition event, focused on consumer preference as a measure of brand building success. Endorsed by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and supported by various associations, it uses consumer research to determine the country’s most preferred brands across multiple categories, awarding Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze honours. The awards uniquely position Malaysian consumers as the judges, shaping the outcome of each category.

In addition, Malaysia Airlines was also accorded the title of “Airline of the Year” at the Voyage Awards in China. The award highlights the airline’s significant influence within the industry, its innovative approach and contributions of sustainable aviation practices. This recognition reflects Malaysia Airlines’ efforts to solidify its brand and commercial presence in China, a key market for the airline.

Datuk Captain Izham Ismail, Group Managing Director of Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), said, “These accolades reflect the relentless dedication of our team and the trust our passengers place in us. As we continue to enhance our services and expand our network, we remain steadfast in delivering exceptional travel experiences that embody Malaysian Hospitality. These recognitions motivate us to further elevate every aspect of our operations; ensuring that our airlines remain a leading choice for regional and global connectivity.”

In celebration of these achievements, we are expressing our gratitude with an exclusive offer of up to 15% off at malaysiaairlines.com, using the code THANK YOU.

In line with its ongoing commitment to enhancing passenger experience, Malaysia Airlines recently extended its complimentary Wi-Fi on selected narrowbody aircraft, with three out of six Boeing 737-8 aircraft now equipped with this service, with plans to have all six activated by February 2025. This follows the successful introduction of complimentary Wi-Fi first introduced on selected widebody aircraft in November 2023, available for all passengers regardless of cabin class or loyalty tier; further strengthening its digital capabilities, ensuring seamless connectivity for travellers throughout their journey.
