This is a temporary position.

This role will contribute to the operational excellence of the Marriott Bonvoy program by building upon our existing expertise and creating structures needed to monitor and evaluate end to end Marriott Bonvoy processes to prevent and correct any operational gaps.

This role will partner closely with business and IT leads in Marriott Bonvoy, Global Operations, Finance and project teams for Marriott Growth Platforms, functioning as a strategic business partner adept at synthesizing diverse information, recommending monitors, reports and other controls. The Sr. Manager assists in gaining alignment (as appropriate) across the broader organization (e.g., Continents, Finance, Senior Executives), and partners with others to further align and integrate the various programs and work underway.

Success in this role requires strategic thinking, strong project management skills with a proven ability to manage multiple projects at the same time, exceptional attention to detail, as well as an understanding of and passion for technology and how it supports business,

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • 4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related major AND 4+ years’ experience in the hospitality industry, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance

OR

  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience in related function, demonstrating progressive career growth and patter of exceptional performance

Experience Preferred

  • Experience managing and defining transformational strategies for business units.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results under difficult conditions, particularly when faced with complexity and ambiguity.
  • Proven track record of success working in or with fast-paced, consumer focused organizations
  • Demonstrated strong track record delivering business results
  • Strong knowledge and experience working in the loyalty competitive landscape.
  • Demonstrated success leading large scale initiatives/transformations across an enterprise and associated change management.
  • Proven experience introducing and implementing cutting edge ideas; conception through final delivery.
  • Specialized experience in Loyalty program management
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-functional project teams to drive concrete results and actions
  • Expert understanding of hospitality space and the needs of different tiers of brands and segments of consumers
  • Experience partnering with loyalty, operations and marketing to drive new membership engagement
  • Demonstrated elevated problem-solving skills to isolate disconnects in the member journey to ensure the Bonvoy promise is delivered as intended

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Project and Strategy Leadership

  • Support the Director, Program Operations to manage key connection points and interdependencies between Program Operations and other MGP workstreams including Hotel Operations, Loyalty, Change Management, Finance and Technical Architecture
  • Collaborate with cross-functional working teams comprised of discipline experts to:
  • Plan and implement identified initiatives with minimal oversight
  • Support transformational projects working across functions and disciplines to meet objectives
  • Guide on-going business analysis support to leadership to support strategic decision making using the appropriate approaches, systems, and resources
  • Deliver presentations related to the governance, project evaluation and management
  • Actively engage internal partners (e.g., Change Management and Communications, Human Resources, Training) to prepare content for communication materials as needed for deployment of any new/revised initiatives
  • Create documentation for Marriott Bonvoy processes, gaps, controls.
  • Develop presentations related to project execution/status, and management for senior management and other key stakeholders (e.g., owners, associates, customers).
  • Provide ongoing monitoring of progress against program and project-level milestones / performance metrics, developing and maintaining reporting on these items (and any associated risks/issue) to leadership.

Strategy Execution & Initiative Support

  • Develop / coordinate development of high-quality deliverables and work products in support of the project.
  • Monitor and provide constructive feedback on work products produced by other members of the Program Operations Team.
  • Participate in review cycles at key milestones & provide perspectives to manager related to project management decisions.
  • Actively participate in strategy sessions, contributing materially to strategy development.
  • Support development and activation of complex implementation plans.
  • Establish key milestones and approval roles.
  • Ensure timely delivery against milestones.

Maintaining Goals

  • Submit reports in a timely manner, ensuring delivery deadlines are met.
  • Promote the documenting of project progress accurately.
  • Provide input and assistance to other teams regarding projects.

Managing Work, Projects, and Policies

  • Manage and implement work and projects as assigned.
  • Generate and provide accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc.
  • Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and detailed status reports as requested.

  • Provide technical expertise and support to persons inside and outside of the department.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of job-relevant issues, products, systems, and processes.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of function-specific procedures.
  • Keep up-to-date technically and applies new knowledge to job.
  • Use computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to enter data and/ or process information.

Delivering on the Needs of Key Stakeholders

  • Understand and meet the needs of key stakeholders.
  • Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.
  • Determine priorities, schedules, plans and necessary resources to ensure completion of any projects on schedule.
  • Collaborate with internal partners and stakeholders to support business/initiative strategies.
  • Communicate concepts in a clear and persuasive manner that is easy to understand.
  • Generate and provide accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of business priorities.

The pay range for this position is $52.06 to $69.04 per hour.
