What is the opportunity?
RBC’s Loyalty Partnerships team is responsible for identifying, securing, and fostering strategic relationships that accelerate RBC client value and engagement while advancing RBC’s internationally recognized, award-winning loyalty program, Avion Rewards.
In this role, you will be responsible for the leadership of key Loyalty Partners spanning critical sectors to develop and deepen mutually beneficial value for shared customers and business growth. This is a highly collaborative role working alongside internal Product teams (i.e. Cards, Merchant Solutions) to bring the best of partnerships to enable business objectives. You will be responsible for actively communicating and partnering with key stakeholders and executives to ensure alignment, engagement, and awareness of opportunities for integration and growth. You will support the team to develop a best-in-class partner experience for all stakeholders and furthering RBC’s reputation as a market leader.
What will you do?
- Reporting to the Head, Loyalty Partnerships, manage a portfolio of strategic partnerships and a team of relationship managers and their sectors of focus
- Provide day-to-day senior partner relationship leadership, internal collaboration, team growth and delivery including strategic planning, professional development, and culture building
- Together with the Loyalty Partnerships leadership team and key cross-functional stakeholders (i.e. Marketing, Analytics, Operations), create and align partner sector strategies to maximize portfolio coverage and client value anchored in Avion Rewards
- In conjunction with internal Product leads, identify new opportunities to secure, deepen, and extend partnerships
- Work with executive leadership and core internal cross functional business teams to develop a sound external facing partner proposal that highlights the benefits of a partnership with Avion Rewards and RBC
- Support monthly, quarterly and annual business reviews along with long range planning with key partners and internal stakeholders to drive engagement, identify new opportunities for integration, and foster best-in-class partnerships
- Support work to design relevant and insightful partner materials including sector reports, post campaign analysis and strategic roadmaps
- Establish ongoing touchpoints with key stakeholders and functional partners to ensure continuing alignment of partnership activities and key business strategies
- Support in development and implementation of Partner Services practice management framework, including industry best practices and standards, guides, activities, and behaviors to ensure RBC is seen as the best-in-class organization to partner and work with, internally and externally
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
- 7-10 years of management experience with a demonstrated ability to drive to impact and nurture professional development
- Extensive experience in Loyalty, partnerships, consulting, or other relationship management with data-driven decision making, growing relationships and achieving mutually beneficial objectives and goals
- Consultative experience and a passion for developing business plans for large, multi-faceted partnerships
- An MBA or graduate-level degree in related field
- Experience navigating and building trusted organizational relationships with leading brands and cultivating mutually beneficial business value in market at pace
- Experience leading senior partner conversations and leading a team of direct reports that are accountable for leading day-to-day relationships
- Strong solution orientation with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- A sense of pride in maintaining consistent high levels of performance and attention to detail
- Self-starter approach with a strong financial acumen and bias for action, sense of curiosity, and ability to build trust and alignment
- Strong ability to work in a collaborative, supportive way in cross-functional teams and across the organization while being able to adapt in ambiguous, agile, and rapidly changing environments
Nice-to-have:
- Direct experience in retail partnerships to inform sector strategy insights and approach
- Strong communication, storytelling and presentation skills
- Experience in sales, consulting, or professional services / agencies
- Project management experience including cross functional navigation
