Global Hotel AllianceRotana, one of the Middle East’s leading hotel management companies, has officially joined Global Hotel Alliance (GHA), becoming part of the world’s largest network of independent hotel brands. This strategic move significantly boosts Rotana’s global reach and visibility, while also expanding GHA’s presence across the UAE and beyond.
The partnership adds over 70 Rotana properties to the GHA DISCOVERY loyalty program, giving its 30 million members more choices in key destinations across the Middle East, North Africa, Eastern Europe, and Turkey. Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, Rotana currently operates 36 hotels within the UAE alone, with properties ranging from luxurious beach resorts to premium business hotels in cities such as Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, and Al Ain.
Through this alliance, Rotana now offers GHA DISCOVERY members access to a total of 80 properties, with more in the pipeline. The integration of Rotana’s brands—including Rotana Hotels & Resorts, Rayhaan, Centro, Arjaan, and Edge—is underway, with full rollout expected by early 2026.
Rotana Rewards, the brand’s existing loyalty program, will be rebranded as Rotana DISCOVERY once integration is complete. Members will enjoy expanded benefits, including:
-
DISCOVERY Dollars (D$): Earn and redeem D$ (equivalent to USD) at any participating GHA property.
-
Instant Rewards: Earn benefits from the first stay, such as complimentary Wi-Fi, room upgrades, and early check-in/late check-out.
-
Local Offers: Enjoy access to hotel services and experiences even without an overnight stay.
Chris Hartley, CEO of Global Hotel Alliance, called the partnership a “significant milestone,” noting that Rotana’s strong presence in the region enhances the reach of GHA DISCOVERY, bringing the alliance closer to its next milestone of 1,000 hotels globally.
Philip Barnes, CEO of Rotana, said the collaboration aligns with Rotana’s goal of offering exceptional hospitality experiences. “GHA and Rotana share the same values—offering a guest-centric approach that gives travelers choice, flexibility, and meaningful rewards,” he said.
The move is also expected to generate significant financial benefits. In 2024, GHA DISCOVERY members contributed $2.7 billion in revenue and booked 11 million room nights. Cross-brand loyalty activity alone generated $370 million in incremental revenue.
GHA DISCOVERY is free to join, and new members can register online or through the GHA mobile app.
