Job Description


This is a 2 year fixed-term role that will play a crucial role in managing a new multi-million-pound partnership programme between the All England Club and one of its official partners. This initiative and sees the two organisations investing in a network of organisations to deliver a programme of activity that engages and connects disadvantaged children, young people and families with nature across the UK.

Main Duties/Responsibilities

Programme Management

  • Manage the partnership with a network of organisations, acting as the main contact between them and the All England Club: agreeing and facilitating the delivery of the programme, and over time, taking learnings onboard to further adapt the programme if needed.
  • Undertake programme visits on a regular basis and convene the parties working on this programme to share experiences and learnings in order to build a strong sense of cooperation and collaboration.
  • Ensure the relevant contracts are in place; manage grant payments in line with budget; and manage the overall annual programme budget.
  • Oversee the impact measurement, monitoring and evaluation of the programme, collecting impact data and collating an annual impact report on the programme to be used for internal and external audiences.
  • Prepare and present regular reports and updates to the All England Club’s Community and Social Responsibility Committee and other All England Club stakeholders.
  • Liaise closely with other All England Club teams including partnerships, marketing and communications to manage the relationship with the Official Partner in question.
  • Manage and develop relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, identifying and acting on opportunities and activations that are mutually beneficial and promote the programme.
  • Lead on organising events bringing the programme stakeholders together in person.
  • Represent the programme and the All England Club at relevant conferences and networking events.
  • Play an active role in the All England Club’s community engagement work, and especially those that are nature related.

Communications and brand management

  • Offer an appropriate level of support to the network of organisations and work with the All England Club’s communications, marketing and partnerships teams to deliver media releases, case studies and publications to support the programme.
  • Ensure all programme materials and collateral are aligned and adhering to programme brand guidelines and approach.
  • Collect and maintain an up-to-date library of content (written, photographic, video) about the programme which can be used by all relevant parties.
  • Ensure this programme also supports the All England Club’s wider communications efforts and ‘force for good’ activity across a range of channels and stakeholders.

What part your role will play in The Championships

  • Represent the programme and the All England Club at programme ‘heartbeat’ moments and play a key role in communications efforts around the programme across The Championships period. Longer days and shifts will be required, including working at the weekends.
  • Take on any other additional duties as advised by the Head of Community Strategy.

Other key areas of responsibility

  • Uphold the All England Club’s regulations on safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults, customer care and equal opportunities.
  • This job description provides a guideline only. Your role is likely to evolve and other duties may be required of you in the future, as directed by the Head of Community Strategy.

Other Information

  • The role will require a full DBS clearance, the results of which must be satisfactory to the All England Club.
  • This is a basic 35-hour five-day week position, with anticipated weekend and after hours working at events from time to time, as well as occasional late start / early finishes to meet operational requirements for which time in lieu will be offered.
  • There is UK travel needed as part of this role and applicants should be aware that there may be a requirement for overnight stays from time to time.
  • During peak periods, holiday restrictions may apply for operational reasons.
  • The successful candidate will be joining a small, dynamic team led by the Head of Community Strategy that includes community outreach and engagement and Wimbledon’s successful Learning programme. In addition, the successful candidate will be a key feature in the Wimbledon Communication team, supporting the wide range of communications that is generated by the organisation.

About you

  • Demonstrable experience of having managed and coordinated grant programmes, ideally in the nature space and/or working with disadvantaged children, young people and families.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain successful partnerships and relationship management, building relationships with existing and new contacts at all levels, including Board and senior management level
  • Confident working with a diverse range of sectors and cultures: voluntary and community, corporate, international development, sport, education.
  • Possess outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to work quickly and efficiently, while upholding a high level of attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of proactive and reactive communications management.
  • Enthusiasm for working collaboratively and developing strong working relationships with a diverse range of people in various roles and functions.
  • Able to plan, organise, and facilitate workshops and events.
  • Professional and diplomatic with excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Able to work within a small and focused team, often with minimal supervision, taking the initiative to bring fresh ideas and solving problems, prioritising and multi-tasking to meet deadlines and changing requirements.
  • Highly numerate, with a good understanding of budgeting / financial reporting and ability to analyse complex information and figures.
