In a significant move to elevate its premium passenger experience, LATAM Airlines Group has announced an investment of nearly $30 million to develop and upgrade its airport lounges across key locations in South America and the United States.

Major Investments in Lima and São Paulo

A substantial portion of this investment is allocated to the construction of new lounges at Lima’s Jorge Chávez International Airport and São Paulo’s Guarulhos International Airport. The Lima lounge, with a budget of $10.5 million, is set to open in the coming months. Spanning approximately 2,450 square meters (26,300 square feet), it will feature two distinct areas—Signature and Premium—sharing a common reception zone. By 2026, the facility is expected to accommodate over 24,000 passengers monthly.

In São Paulo, LATAM is designing a new lounge in Terminal 3 of Guarulhos Airport, earmarked with an $18 million investment. At 4,700 square meters (50,500 square feet), it will become the largest airport lounge in Latin America upon its anticipated opening in 2027.

Upgrades in Bogotá and Miami

LATAM has initiated renovations of its lounge at El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá, Colombia, with a $500,000 investment. The revamped space will offer 136 seats across 650 square meters (7,000 square feet) and is scheduled to open in May. Additionally, plans are underway to expand the lounge at Miami International Airport in the coming years, further enhancing the airline’s presence in North America.

Design Inspired by South American Culture

The new and refurbished lounges will draw inspiration from South American architecture, culture, and hospitality, aligning with the design of LATAM’s Santiago lounge, which has been operational since 2022. These spaces aim to provide modern and comfortable environments that reflect the region’s rich heritage.

Exclusive Access and Services

LATAM’s Signature lounges will be accessible to passengers holding Black Signature or Black status in the LATAM Pass loyalty program, as well as business class travelers. Premium lounges will cater to Platinum status members and premium economy passengers. The airline also offers a Signature Check-in area for elite members, providing a private and efficient check-in experience.

With these investments, LATAM Airlines Group underscores its commitment to enhancing the travel experience for its premium passengers, reinforcing its position as a leading airline in the region.
