Klarna becomes Bolt’s exclusive payment partner, unlocking faster, more flexible, and higher-converting checkout experiences for merchants

Klarna, the global digital bank and flexible payments provider, today announced a strategic partnership with Bolt—the checkout, identity, and payments platform—to integrate Klarna’s flexible payment options directly into Bolt’s CheckoutOS.

With customers increasingly seeking flexible payment solutions tailored to their needs, this integration empowers merchants to deepen engagement and build trust by offering Klarna’s payment options directly at checkout. Leveraging Klarna and Bolt’s proven ability to improve customer loyalty, retailers can foster stronger relationships and keep shoppers coming back.

“Bolt merchants need powerful tools that help them capture consumer spend,” said Ryan Breslow, CEO of Bolt. “By embedding Klarna natively, we’re giving every merchant—from emerging brands to enterprise-scale retailers—a turnkey way to offer flexible payments, without lengthy contracts or approval processes. We’re excited for our network of 80 million shoppers to discover the simplicity of one-click checkout paired with Klarna’s flexible payment options.”

Details of the Partnership:

  • Klarna to be Preferred Payment Partner: Klarna will be featured as the default, preferred payment method on all Bolt-powered sites—maximizing visibility, accelerating adoption, and reinforcing Klarna’s ever-expanding network at checkout.
  • Easy Adoption for Merchants: Bolt merchants will now be able to offer Klarna’s Pay in 4, which allows consumers to split purchases into four payments or Financing for higher ticket items with monthly repayments made over a longer period of time. Because Klarna is pre-built into Bolt’s platform, there are no additional contracts, APIs or technical lift required—just flip the switch and start offering new payment methods.
  • Frictionless Consumer Experience: Shoppers using Klarna on Bolt-powered stores enjoy a true one-click checkout that unites identity, payment choice, and speed with a single click. On average, Bolt shoppers convert 50% higher and are 15% more likely to make repeat purchases compared to guest checkouts—highlighting the impact of a personalized, identity-powered experience.
  • Ecosystem Growth: This collaboration underscores Klarna’s rapid network growth—adding hundreds of Bolt merchants and millions of shoppers to its ecosystem—and supports its mission to be ubiquitous, available everywhere for everything.

This partnership kicks off the first phase of a global expansion: the integration will go live in the U.S. later this year, with plans to broaden into additional verticals and markets around the globe.
